About The AA

The AA was formed on June 29th 1905 by a group of motoring enthusiasts who met at the Trocadero restaurant in London’s West End. They formed the Automobile Association, whose initial intention was to to help motorists avoid police speed traps. In the year 2005 The AA celebrated its centenary anniversary.

In 1967, The AA insurance broking service was introduced. In 1973, AA Relay was launched. This service guaranteed to transport any seriously broken-down vehicle along with it’s driver, passengers, luggage and caravan or trailer to any destination in Britain.
