Texaco products first went on sale in the UK in the early 1900s, and since then the brand has continued to grow and develop steadily. Their Pembroke refinery opened in 1964, after drilling for oil began in the North Sea. Texaco merged with Chevron Corporation during 2001 and entered the global marketplace as the fifth largest US-based energy company in the world. Today Texaco still have a refinery in Pembroke and around 1200 service stations in the UK.

Texaco provides both standard fuels and premium fuels. The standard petrol goes above the EU and UK regulations and contains an additional detergent, which helps to clean the engine and provides better driveability. The premium diesel contains an anti-foaming device to make filling up easier. Both premium fuels are seasonally blended to provide optimum performance depending on the season. Supreme unleaded from Texaco is a 97 RON, which is two above their standard fuel.
