About Texaco Fuel
Texaco products have been sold in the UK for over 100 years. Today, Valero Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation, markets fuel in the UK and Ireland under the Texaco brand.
There are over 700 Texaco-branded service stations in the UK, owned and operated by independent retailers, making it the country’s largest independent branded chain of service stations.
Valero refines crude oil at its refinery in Pembroke, south west Wales. Pembroke came on stream in 1964. It was initially owned by the Regent Oil Company, which was acquired by Texaco in 1956 (although the brand name was only phased out in the UK in favour of Texaco in the late 1960s). Chevron acquired Texaco in 2000. Valero purchased Pembroke Refinery and the related logistics assets and marketing business of Chevron in the UK and Ireland in 2011.
Texaco sells diesel and unleaded (marketed as Premium Unleaded 95, marketed as Texaco Supreme Unleaded. According to Texaco, the Premium Unleaded 95 petrol exceeds the latest requirements of the relevant British and European Standard Specifications BS EN 228. They also sell Texaco Supreme Unleaded and Supreme Diesel, which they claim help engines run more smoothly and efficiently.
¹Not all Texaco fuel stations may offer premium grade fuels.
